Version 0.16.1 - QoL and Balancing


This is the first update since the gain-jam release. A lot of negative feedback has been received, especially concerning readability of the puzzle and balancing of the game. The changements made in version 0.16.1 to improve the game in that regard are listed below. There will be more to follow.

▶️ Quality of Life : 

  • Improved key item visibility.
  • Improved customer timer visibility (the hourglass icon).
  • Improved “selling button” visibility.
  • More readable text font for dialogue boxes.
  • Replaced stamina Potion by Speed potion for more readability and reduce confusion with the force potion.
  • Slightly decreased time to switch room.
  • Loading times should be slightly shorters.

▶️ Balancing and pacing : 

  • Added a prompt on the first day to let the player choose whether he is ready to receive clients or not. This way new players can learn and experiment before having to deal with any timer.
  • Reduced the time needed to “cure” a transformation.
  • Customers have lower cooldown on very high reputation. 
  • Taxes now start low and increase after each day to make the first days easier.
  • Days are now shorter for better game pace.
  • Reduced starting money to make up for higher potion prices and lower taxes.

▶️ Bug fixing : 

  • Fixed a bug where Cauldron ambient SFX wouldn’t stop playing at the end of a day.
  • Fixed a bug where the cursor would disappear at the end of the day if the magic hand was activated.

i thought the original version was easy to play. i  reached the good ending in 15 mins days ago.

In theory it's still possible to beat it in approximately as much time ? Below 20min should be possible in this update.

Also congrats on beating the game :D

Maybe i took 20mins ,LOL i don‘t remembered . Expecting more functions be added to the game.

BubbleBloat cooked the patch notes faster than AH fixing Helldivers 2. Fucking epic

At this pace, we will get more potions faster than GTA VI release (this meme is overused and annoying, i know, but still!)

Definitely the idea and the game are pretty good, I liked it a lot from the beginning and now even more with the changes implemented, very good job!

I just have one question for future versions, would there be a possibility of some kind of weight gain either in the protagonist or the buyers? I feel like it would be a good addition, anyway, thanks a lot for the update :>

These sound great, I am looking forwards to playing more, not having enough time to figure out the potions the first day was definitely hurting my brain so now I will be way better off!
